SERVING ELECTED OFFICE FOR 17 YEARS
Arriving in the 80s, Keith has proudly called Fort McMurray his home for over 32 years. Starting out working for small business while attending Keyano College, Keith has spent almost 3 decades in the oil sands working for Contract Mining Companies in various capacities.
Over the years Keith has and continues to volunteer with various community groups. President of the Friends of Miskanaw, he has also served on the Community Health Council, Regional Roads Committee, Fort McMurray Housing Authority, Lions Club, and the McMurray Newfoundlander's Club. While serving on council Keith has served Chair of the Land, Planning and Transportation Committee, Board of Directors RRC, Wood Buffalo Recovery Committee, Community Identification Committee, Audit and Budget Committee, Rebuild Sub Committee, and People Sub Committee.
"Giving back with time and finances is just the right thing to do!"
Keith has also served four terms as Trustee with the Fort McMurray Catholic School District, Vice Chair. Keith served on the Alberta Catholic School Trustee Association and the finance committee of this provincial body. Keith has gained valuable experience in working with all levels of Government for a better tomorrow.
Keith was awarded the JD Hole Humanitarian award in July 2012, again in March 2017; helping others has always been his way. In 2013 Keith was awarded one of 38 Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal from the Canadian Construction Association.
Municipal council affects the lives of individuals more so that any other level of Government. When elected Keith will make a commitment to shaping bylaws, being fiscally responsible, working with all stakeholders and industry for a growth plan that reflects the needs and requirements to sustain our region as a whole in areas of transportation, reviewing recreational facilities, protective services, working with the non profit sector and faith groups, working closely with our seniors, working with the small business community to realize the commercial needs of the entire population.
